The unique nature of our organisation means that we can offer you a valuable insight into the ever-changing world of Financial Services. A career in regulation will give you excellent experience of the complex, diverse and continually evolving financial services sector. This is a very exciting time to be part of a huge change programme whilst ensuring we continue to deliver our regulatory philosophy.

Working for a world-leading financial regulator means that you are personally contributing to safeguarding the interests of consumers through our remit to scope the way financial institutions operate to ensure the stability of the financial system in the UK.

This rigorous approach demands high-quality staff, with industry knowledge and the will to challenge the industry robustly where potential threats to consumers or the wider market are identified. The FSA can provide an unrivalled opportunity to learn from industry specialists and view the financial sector from a unique perspective, all within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Our success as an organisation rests entirely on the calibre of our people. We encourage applications from the widest possible talent pool, recognise the positives that diversity brings to our organisation, and pride ourselves on a culture that is built on respect and understanding. We will make the necessary investment to enable you to realise your potential through personal and professional development, while the everyday challenges of your role will enable you to grow and broaden your expertise.

You will have the opportunity to help define our future while shaping your own, and as our work protects the interests of everyone, you can take real pride in what you do.

Our diversity vision

We are committed to promoting equality and diversity in all areas of our work as an employer and a regulator.

  1. We are dedicated to valuing diversity and creating a positive culture within the FSA.
  2. We have a vision of an FSA that is vibrant, fair, inclusive and diverse, and where there is respect and understanding.
  3. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and we want our staff to be proud of their shared values and identity and to work together to secure our vision.

We believe that differences should be recognised, supported and celebrated. This statement is a demonstration of our commitment to be an employer of choice, which will in turn make us a more effective regulator. It builds on the excellent work we have already undertaken and further enhances our dedication for diversity and equality.

Sponsored Study

The FSA place a high regard on attracting and recruiting high calibre professional staff and is prepared to invest appropriate time and support to enhance the skills needed for an individual’s roles. One approach to accomplishing this is by supporting staff undertaking self-study programmes through the FSA's Sponsored Study Policy. The FSA encourage staff who wish to develop their career by undertaking studies related to their role and may provide time off for study and payment for some/all of the course fees, dependant upon the nature of the course of study or qualification. In particular, the FSA is an ACCA approved employer, providing the framework and support needed for individuals to work towards this professional qualification.
